Prof. Ma Zhao, Shandong University, China
Ma Zhao, Ph.D., is a British Royal Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Fellow of IET (the British Institute of Engineering Technology (FIET), a foreign Fellow of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering (FCSEE), a national distinguished expert, a Chair professor of Shandong University, and a special expert of China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI). He has 38 years of working experience in scientific research, manufacturing, operation, consulting and education in the field of power industry. He is currently chairman of SC6 committee of CIGRE China and Asia Pacific region, a member of CIRED China national technical committee, and chair of S4 (distributed energy and multi energy complementary committee) , a member of IEC SYC LVDC Committee, and director of advisory committee of IEEE PES DC System Technical Committee. His main research directions include: advanced distribution system and distributed energy, intelligent electrical equipment design / technical consultation, medium and low voltage DC power distribution and utilization, new generation of integrated energy system, application of artificial intelligence in power system, etc. In recent five years, he has published more than 60 academic papers, CO authored two English CIGRE TB monographs, authorized 8 Chinese invention patents, 3 software works, and won 1 Geneva International Invention Gold Award. "Comprehensive assessment platform of distribution network health index" is included by the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He was recently awarded the CIGRE Technology Award 2020.
